Living in South Tillamook County, Oregon, means being surrounded by the beauty

of the Pacific Northwest. However, it's important to also be prepared for any potential emergencies that may arise. That's where the South Tillamook County Emergency Volunteer Corps comes in.

Our Mission is to enhance community preparedness and disaster planning in South Tillamook County, Oregon. ​STCEVC provides education, resources, logistic and communications in individual and community disaster preparedness. By staying

informed and educated on disaster preparedness, individuals can be better equipped

to handle any emergencies that may occur in the area. In addition to training events,

the organization also supports local initiatives aimed at strengthening the community's resilience.

Our Focus Areas

Community Supply Sheds

In the event of an emergency such as a earthquake / tsunami  individuals and families will arrive at tsunami evacuation assembly areas in need of food, water and medical supplies. To meet these needs the South Tillamook County Emergency Volunteer Corps has undertaken a project to build emergency supply sheds at all the coastal assembly areas.

Communictions

The Mission of the South County Emergency Volunteer Corps Communications Team is to provide the Community with communications during an emergency. The geographic area supported encompasses the boundaries of the Nestucca Rural Fire District. There are two classes of users supported:
  1. Licensed Ham Operators
  2. Community members utilizing the GMRS band of frequencies.

Community Emergency Response Team CERT

Members of our Community Emergency Response Team are trained in disaster operations, basic first aid, CPR, light search and rescue, fighting small fires, and supporting the Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District (NRFPD) with traffic control and firefighter rehabilitation.

 

As a volunteer you will receive training, engage in various drill exercises and learn how to be resilient. Through training, ordinary citizens can help our community be prepared for any disaster. We sponsored by the  NRFPD and when activated, we are covered under their liability.
